Siska - 2 Day / 1 Night

Built in Perth, Western Australia, Siska is 80ft long and has a single mast that is 106 feet high. It is estimated that Siska had sailed around 140,000 nautical miles from its launch until arrival in the Whitsunday Islands in December 1992.

During this time Siska won two Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races along with circumnavigating the world twice. Siska has a myriad of winches and sailing gear and guests are encouraged to assist sailing Siska, including hoisting and trimming sails, or taking the helm to steer her around the islands.

Explore Whitsundays Siska is one of the most comfortable maxi charter yachts sailing the Whitsundays Islands, she has ample head room throughout the yacht for taller guests, 2 dining tables provide plenty of space to enjoy meals together. On deck there is ample space to relax, and there is a boom awning for shade when anchored.

Itinerary

A typical day starts at around 8.00am with breakfast, then a swim or bushwalk, followed by 1 to 2 hours of sailing to a snorkelling, diving or beach destination. Then it's time to explore the island coral reefs, swim or relax at the beach.

Around 1.00pm its time for lunch and then at 2.30pm its time for another sail around the Whitsunday Islands arriving safely in an overnight anchorage by 4.30-5.30pm. Just in time for one of the other yachts to meet up, where guests from both yachts can mingle, enjoy a drink or two, exchange sailing stories and watch the sunset over the islands. By 7.30pm dinner is served and afterwards it's your decision whether you want to party on with a few drinks under the stars or call it a day.

Guests are welcome to join in and assist the crew with the sailing. The racing yachts have a myriad of winches and sailing gear that could baffle all but the most experienced crew, however, guests are welcome to learn, including hoisting and trimming sails, or taking the helm. For those who are interested the crew will spend time covering the sailing basics.
