Australia's oldest island trader & the largest timber Tallship in the Whitsundays at 26 metres. The story of Defender is the story of Australia's maritime history with a colourful lineage spanning more than 100 years.
The Defender was built at the northern N.S.W boat building port of Kincumber in 1896. She measured 115' overall with 22' beam. Featuring a magnificent raking clipper bow with an elliptical stern and eye catching lines, she is still considered one of the prettiest boats afloat.

Itineraries depend on a variety of considerations such as weather, tide and seasons. There are 74 tropical islands to discover with coral reef, lush rainforest and velvet covered peaks. Your skipper will ensure that you are taken to the best spots on the day.
Enjoy exploration of this world famous wonderland by snorkeling and swimming amongst the fringing coral reefs of the Whitsunday Islands. Enjoy beach combing and bushwalks learning about the exceptional biodiversity of the area with your experienced crew.

Additional Information
- What to Bring: It would be appreciated that you limit the amount of luggage you take on board, and recommend soft sided luggage. Swimmers, beach towel, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera, spare film / batteries, sandals or joggers for island bush walk, favourite music CDs/Ipods, a sweater for cooler evenings. If you have larger luggage that you would like to store, storage facilities are available at most accommodation houses in Airlie Beach, or there is a store across the road from the check in office.
